Summary

This program will take a deep dive into how to protect students’ civil rights. Students in California have a right to a Free and Appropriate Public Education as promised by the California Constitution. Students also have the right to be free from discrimination based upon their gender, race, color, national origin, and sexual orientation. They have the right to be able to access their education free from these arbitrary roadblocks. When they are victimized or discriminated against, their education is profoundly impacted. This webinar discusses the ins and outs of protecting students’ rights to be free from bullying, physical and sexual abuse. This webinar will also address accommodations, IEPs, government claims, Title IV, and how to use California’s civil rights statutes to protect students.
